Our Mission

We will strive to preserve the integrity and diversity of the natural resources and agricultural land within Ravalli County. We will continue to help the people of Ravalli County through education and assistance in the control of noxious weeds. What Are Noxious Weeds? They are non-native plants that have been introduced to Ravalli County through human actions. Due to their aggressive growth and lack of natural enemies, these species can be highly destructive, competitive, or difficult to control. Noxious weeds are everyone's problem and they not only reduce crop yields, and destroy native plants and animal habitat, they can damage recreational sites, clog waterways, lower land values, and poison humans and livestock. Our mission is to act as responsible stewards of the land and resources in Ravalli County. The Ravalli County Weed District can assist you with identifying noxious weeds and give you advice on their control.

 

! Attention !

Ravalli County Weed District is currently working with the U.S. Forest Service in a cooperative effort to stop the spread of Rush Skeleton weed. This invader is a very real and serious threat to Ravalli County. Rush Skeleton Weed was recently found in the upper West fork area. Please call the weed district if you have questions or think you may have Rush Skeleton weed on your property. We don't want this one to get away.
